Vikings War of Clans Building and Learning Equipment

In Vikings War of Clans your learning speed and building speed are two of the most important boosts in the game. Building speed will dramatically reduce the amount of time needed to upgrade buildings and learning speed will allow you to accumulate knowledge faster.

Both of these boosts will allow you to progress through the game to higher levels much quicker, unlock troops quicker and improve your town and troop boosts.

This guide looks at maximizing your boosts by crafting the very best learning and building equipment at your Forge.

How Boosts Work

Every building and knowledge has a fixed original time. The fixed time is first reduced by any temporary boosts you have active and then by your overall learning and building speed boosts.

To work out your time, you need to apply any temporary boosts to the original time and then divide the remaining time by the following modifier:-

  • Modifier = (Total Boosts + 100) / 100

To give you a rough idea without the math, use the figures below:-

  • 100% boost = Reduces time in half.
  • 200% boost = Reduces time to one third.
  • 300% boost = Reduces time to one quarter.

Only at the Start!

An important point is that your learning, or building speed boost only comes into play right at the point you start upgrading a building, or learning new knowledge. Changing your boost at any point after the start, does nothing to your remaining time.

Therefore you will want to craft a complete building speed equipment set, and a complete learning speed equipment set, to use at the start of upgrades and knowledge.

This will reduce those long timers, but leave you free to switch to your battle, or farming gear, the rest of the time.

Quality Matters

All materials in Vikings War of Clans can be found in six different variations of increasing quality:-

  • Simple > Usual > Unusual> Rare > Epic > Legendary

The higher the quality, the better the stats on the final item.

You should never craft any items that are less than rare quality. To make sure you get a rare quality item, you must use all rare materials .

Ideally you want to go for epic, or legendary, but the only way to guarantee the outcome is to use all epic, or all legendary materials.

You can change any material into the quality directly above, by combining four of the same color material in your Forge.

Do not waste low quality materials on equipment, save them all for the good items later on!

Building Speed Equipment

Below we have listed some of the very best building speed equipment currently available in Vikings War of Clans.

The total equipment boost shows the building speed boost you will get from each quality of item. Adding in the boost from learning “building speed 10” and maxing hero skills “building speed I & II”, shows the total possible boost you can get in game.

You can see from the above that there is a difference of 128.3% between the lowest quality and highest quality items. However, the difference between the legendary and epic set is only 25.3%. Given how much harder it is to craft the legendary set, a lot of players will settle for epic building speed equipment.

Learning Speed Equipment

Below we have listed some of the very best learning speed equipment currently available in Vikings War of Clans.

The total equipment boost shows the learning speed boost you will get from each quality of item. Adding in the boost from a level 21 Oracle and maxing hero skills “learning speed I & II”, shows the total possible boost you can get in game.

There is a difference of 108% between the lowest quality and highest quality items. Like the building speed set, the difference between epic and legendary is much lower at 21.6%, so you may wish to stop at epic.

Conclusion

A 200% boost to learning speed and building speed is a good goal to aim for. This reduces all timers down to a third of their original time. You will shave weeks off your upgrade times and knowledge timers.

Out of the two your learning speed has more long term benefits, as you will probably max your buildings, long before you max your knowledge. For this reason it is worth considering crafting a legendary learning equipment set and epic building equipment set.

  1. I like that, the higher my level, the better equipment. I keep them updated. I train hawks and craft equipment for them to make them stronger.

  3. So if you have 1 yellow, 2 purple and 1 blue item how does the game figure your chances of getting the yellow item. Or does it follow I use 1 yellow elixir and that gives a 180% bonus then the next purple say lead would give 9% instead of the max 12% since its purple.

  5. Hi,
    As Celts has finally arrived you may want to adjust the Learning Helmet to Copper Helmet that actually gives 18% to learning abilities. This is 3% more than Centurion one.

    How many troops would you send to get the best chance of getting an item from a resource tile?
    Do you have to send enough to empty lair, mine, camp?
    Or do you send 1/3 or 1/2 the resource tiles capacity in the hope of getting an additional drop?

  8. You can increase the Learning percentage by 9% if you switch out the Centurion’s Helmet with an invader Copper Helmet (Epic 15%/Legendary 18%) and the Centurion’s Calceus boots with some invader Gascon Boots or Scaled Shoes (Epic 15%/Legendary 18%).

  10. Does applying temporary boosts (like speed up by 10% for one hour) only work at the start of a process, or can you apply them whilst the process in active?

    • Boosts only reduce the initial creation time of either troops training,construction or knowledge research.
      So if a given research takes 10hours you can reduce this by 1 hour but only if you start boost prior to starting the research. Boost will have no effect on ongoing processes. I hope this will help you 🙂
