A few weeks ago The Kingdoms Battle was announced as a new feature coming soon to Vikings War of Clans. This weekend the first kingdoms battle went live! If you are in a kingdom over 30 days old you will be able to take part in the first epic war against another kingdom, allowing you to attack Jarls outside your realm for the first time!
How Does it Work
Each kingdom will be matched against a similar aged kingdom, to allow for an even matched battle. For a limited time you will be able to port into the rival kingdom using a great relocation item, which can be bought from the gold store for 50 gold.
Once in the rivals kingdom you will be able to attack other players, just like you can in your own kingdom. You can keep track of your kingdoms progress against the your enemy, by opening the events window and selecting the kingdoms battle event.
This window shows you the start and finish time of the event, the required tasks to earn points and the total points each kingdom has scored.
Moving Between Kingdoms
To find out which kingdom you are playing, you need to go to the world map screen. Here you will see a large arrow pointing from your kingdom to your opponents.
You click on your opponents kingdom to enter and navigate around, as you would your own. By selecting an empty tile a window will pop up asking you with you want to relocate. If you have a great relocation item you will be able to teleport there, if not Vikings War of Clans will prompt you to buy one for 50 gold, which will then be used immediately.
After you relocate to the enemy’s kingdom you will leave behind a Town Echo. This protects your tile in your home kingdom, preventing others from moving into your space (particularity useful to stop holes appearing in your clans hive).
You can teleport back to your own kingdom at any time, by purchasing a “return” item for 100 gold. This will instantly port you back to your town echo location.
You must be in a clan in order to use a great relocation item and teleport into the enemy’s kingdom.
How to Score Points
You gain points by attacking and defending against the enemy kingdom. You can keep track of your score in the events window.
Points can be scored by:-
- Destroying warriors from the enemy kingdom (both in the enemy kingdom and your own).
- Plundering resources in the enemy kingdom.
- Attacking invaders in the enemy kingdom.
Whilst you are prevented from entering enemy lands unless you are in a clan, you can still earn points in your own kingdom by defending against attacking enemy towns.
You can only take part in onslaughts, reinforce clan members and exchange conveys with other clansmen in the same kingdom that you currently occupy (either yours, or the enemy’s).
There is a restriction preventing Jarls in enemy kingdoms from attacking low level towns that are not in a clan. Any towns which are under Palace level 15 and not in a clan cannot be attacked by Jarls from the rival kingdom.
Tip: If you don’t plan to take part and are under Palace level 15, it might be worth leaving your clan for the kingdom battle. This will protect you from enemy attacks and stop you from giving away points to the rival kingdom.
The Kingdom Chief’s have access to Chief Chat, where they can discuss kingdom strategy and tactics. This will help your kingdom to co-ordinate multiple clan attacks.
After the Kingdoms Battle Ends
After the timer runs out for the kingdoms battle event, you will automatically be teleported back to your town’s echo at no cost.
Any actions you are undertaking in the enemy kingdom i.e. battles, attacking invaders or gathering will be instantly cancelled.
The winning kingdom will be showered with “Gold of the Gods”. These are special locations scattered throughout the kingdom, where gold is yielded much quicker than normal. The winning kingdom will also receive special bonuses that apply to all Jarls and can be seen under the events tab.
Individual clans will also be rewarded based on the points they have scored.
Let us know how you go on in this weekend’s and future Kingdoms Battle events!
